During NCVRW, we celebrate the accomplishments of the victims’ rights movement and reflect on how far we have come.Įvery April, the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) leads communities throughout the country in their annual observances of NCVRW. Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) has challenged the Nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. More About National Crime Victims’ Rights Week at West End Collegiate Church, 245 West 77th Street. All are invited to attend this year’s candlelight vigil which will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. We offer a special welcome from the co-sponsors of tonight’s event, the NYS Office of the Attorney General, the District Attorney’s Offices of Manhattan and the Bronx, and the New York State Downstate Coalition for Crime Victims which represents NYC’s five boroughs along with Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk, and Rockland Counties. We hope to provide you this evening with an experience that is inspiring and spiritually uplifting, and that we leave this space feeling more connected, empowered, and hopeful. The Vigil also recognizes those who support survivors through community and legislative advocacy and activism, healing, and prevention. The 37th Annual NYC Crime Victims Candlelight Vigil will honor the memory of those who were lost to acts of violence, and uplift the voices and experiences of those who have survived violence, along with their families and communities.

While we’re back in person this year at West End Collegiate Church on the Upper West Side, we are also continuing our new tradition of virtual celebration by live-streaming the event! The 37th Annual NYC Crime Victims Candlelight Vigil will be a hybrid event. To view the flyer in Mandarin, click here. To view the flyer in Spanish, click here.
